The gladiolus – also known as the Queen among the bulbous flowers – is a true summer flower and is characterised by its strong, firm stem, sword-shaped leaves and round and symmetrical flower buds.

Jack the Grower offers over 50 species of gladiolus in a wide array of colours such as pink, orange, yellow, red, white, and green. The bigger varieties can rise to one meter and smaller varieties will grow about 60 centimetres. A nice additional fact is that thanks to its wonderful colours and scent, this stunning species attracts bees, butterflies, and sunbirds responsible for its pollination!

      Ordering tulip bulbs online

It is very easy to order tulip bulbs online with us! Jack the Grower offers tulip bulbs from June to December. The flower bulbs are harvested in July/August, processed and have to be stored at the right temperature to achieve a good quality. For this reason, our tulip bulbs are ready for shipment in mid-September. This is also the perfect time to plant tulip bulbs (from September to December).

After you place your order, you will automatically receive an order confirmation by e-mail (within an hour). Didn't receive anything? Check your 'spam' or 'junk' mailbox to be sure. Orders are shipped within 7 working days. As soon as your order is on its way, you will receive a shipping confirmation with a Track & Trace number, so that you can track your order online.

Tip: Tulip bulbs also make great gifts! Who wouldn't be happy with a colourful (balcony) garden in spring? During the ordering process, enter the address of the recipient under 'shipping address'. You can also leave a personal message in the notes section. We will do the rest!

      Planting tulip bulbs

Tulips are spring flowers; tulip bulbs bloom in spring and are planted in autumn (from September to December). Tulip bulbs need frost to grow and bloom. Plant the tulip bulbs about 10 centimetres apart and allow for a planting depth of about three times the bulb size (detailed planting instructions can be found on the back of each package). Tulip bulbs are ideal for planting in between other spring bloomers or perennials.

Tip: Crazy about picking flowers? Plant some extra tulip bulbs! Most tulips can be used as cut flowers; put them in a vase and bring spring into your home.

      Different types of tulips

Tulips are divided into several categories. The two most popular types are the beautiful large-flowering triumph tulips and the short botanical tulips. Next to these varieties, Jack the Grower offers a wide range of tulip bulbs, such as single and double tulips, (double) fringed tulips, peony flowering tulips, viridiflora tulips and parrot tulips.

Tip: Looking for a specific tulip? Or curious about our other types of tulip bulbs? Use our search bar or filters and sort our assortment by colour, height or flowering time.
